Where Do All the Healthcare $ Go?

Was just reading a discussion on the topic of raising health insurance premiums.  It got me curious, so I decided to look up where the US ranks.

We don’t even make it in the top 25 for infant mortality rate or life expectancy, but we are number one on cost per person ($8,800) and percentage of GDP (17%) spent on health expenditures.  Nobody is even close to us in cost.

Since this literally affects every citizen in this country, wouldn’t you think we could discuss reasonably and come up with a better solution?

Since there are 25+ country that are better us, we could actually look at what those countries are doing and see if they can give us some better ideas.
